NPFL: Plateau United affirms top spot with first ever win over Awka United - Wk 28 Results/Table

The Peace Boys overcame the Promise Keepers to boost their title ambitions when they locked horns Today Sunday 9th July at the Jos Township Stadium.


Plateau United recorded their first ever NPFL victory against Akwa United having previously gone 3 games without a win against the Akwa side.

Plateau United got over the defeat of Maiduguri with an emphatic 3-0 Victor over visiting Akwa United FC, the victory sees the Jos darling team reclaiming authority on top the Nigerian professional football league table with a 5 points gap with second place MFM and a plus 22 goal difference.

Emma James of Plateau United, scored the first goal of the game in the first half, converting from the spot after the referee adjudged that Ifeanyi of Awka United handled the ball in the area.
It was a fierce second half and despite Awka United trying to come back into the game, in the 86 minute, Emeka Umeh headed in Daniel Itodo's long throw to make it 2-0 for Plateau. And just before the final whistle,  Kabiru Umar made it 3-0 for Plateau United.
