The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki is a lover of "Every Vote Counts" philosophy. As a result, he ensured that the Electoral Act is amended so that Nigerians can have faith in the electoral
system and vote in leaders they believe have what it takes to deliver and vote out underperforming leaders.

Through Saraki's effort as the President of the Senate, he encouraged Senators to support the amendment of the Electoral Act which they did.

The Electoral Act amendment projects that card reader technology will be fully implemented henceforth and presiding officers must instantly transmit accreditation data and results from polling units to various collation centres among many other benefits the amendment brings.

Saraki and the Senate have received approbation from Nigerians and the international community for the amendment which will not only make Nigerians to have faith in the electoral system but will make elected political leaders to work more effectively and make those seeking elective positions to be well prepared to do more if elected. The amendment of the Electoral Act will promote development.
